Pyramis and Thisbe
Pyramis and Thisbe lived right next to each other and fell in love. They wanted to get married, but their parents wouldn't allow it and tried to keep them apart. Soon after their parents forbade them from getting married, they found a hole in the wall that separated their houses and through that hole, they communicated. Pyramis and Thisbe grew tired of only being able to talk through the small hole that they formed a plan to escape and run away together. They agreed to meet at night near a certain tree when the sun went down. When the sun went down, Thisbe ran away from her home to the tree and waited for Pyramis to arrive. While she sat waiting at the tree she saw a lion coming near her with blood covering its jaw. Afraid the lion would attack her, she ran. But in her urgency, she dropped her cloak. The lion sniffed the cloak then tore it to pieces. Seconds after all of this,Pyramis arrived and saw Thisbe's bloody torn cloak. He cried and blamed himself for getting her killed, then stuck a knife into his body. Thisbe returned later and saw Pyramis dead so she decided to die with him. She claimed death would never keep them apart. She used the same knife Pyramis used to kill himself on herself. The couple died together in the moonlight. Their parents burned their ashes together and placed them in the same urn so the couple was together for eternity.
